Meet "Survivor"!
Joe Longo, my very talented woodcarver, created "Survivor." He's a pink warbler that Joe designed and gave to a dear friend who is having a rough battle with breast cancer. She keeps Survivor by her bed and is still fighting for her life. I asked Joe if we could donate a portion of the sale to the cancer society and he heartily agreed. "Survivor" is $247.50 with 25% going to the American Cancer Society.

*Fair Trade is an organized social movement with a market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries and promote sustainability. Fair Trade's strategic intent is to work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move towards economic self-sufficiency and stability. It also aims to allow them to become greater stakeholders in their own organizations, as well as play a wider role in international trade. It aims to provide higher wages than typically paid to producers in developing countries as well as helping producers develop knowledge, skills and resources to improve their lives.

Saguaro Moon

The full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, is popularly called the
Harvest Moon. According to legend, the name was given to this full moon because farmers could work late into the night at the end of the growing season harvesting crops by moonlight.

The Harvest Moon is also known as the Wine Moon, the Singing Moon and the Elk Call Moon. Photographed in the American Southwest, this moonrise is appropriately titled Saguaro Moon.
