BURKE'S HASELTINE COTTAGE Featured in Midwest Living Magazine Rents May 21 - October 1 Guest Cottage Rental on Big Green Lake, Wisconsin; 2010
We are offering our guest cottage for rent. It was built in 1920 and has been well maintained in its original condition. For many years, it was used as a summer get-away by a prominent family in a nearby city. The cottage was featured in a Midwest Living magazine article on special summer cottages in Wisconsin. After twenty-five summers of using the cottage, we built a larger home on an adjoining lot, and have decided to rent the cottage.
As the pictures show, this is a 1920's "camp" style cottage which emphasizes the out-of-doors. While the cottage is comfortable and furnished in antiques, it is like living outdoors in a fairly secluded and beautiful setting. It is located along with the main house on about 230 feet of secluded prime Big Green Lake shore with mature oaks, birch, white pines and native perennials on old flagstone terraces. There are two bedrooms on the second floor separated by a partition (one with a double bed and the other with three single beds), and a full bath on the first floor. Access between the floors is outdoors. There is a vintage original separate cook house with new refrigerator and electric range. The entire side of the living room opens with screens to the patio, and there is a separate screen porch with views of the lake. Fishing and swimming are excellent from the pier. Two kayaks, new Weber charcoal grill and a campfire holder are available for use. Access to and around the cottage is by original flagstone steps and walkways, laid up on a 23° sloping hillside, so it is only suitable for persons who are steady walkers. A Shore Station boat lift may be available for rent. WIFI is available and a TV with CVR and DVE, but no TV reception. No heat or air conditioning.
